H.113 An Act relative to cueing and supervision in the PCA program

In the PCA program, disabled individuals may receive physical personal care assistance with activities of daily living that they are unable to complete on their own.  Individuals may not receive assistance with tasks that do not require physical assistance.  Under this bill, individuals may receive supervision or cueing assistance with activities of daily living that they may be able to perform on their own, but for the want of supervision and cueing assistance. This change would put Massachusetts in line with 70% of states that allow personal care assistance through Medicaid.
